Evdocia Leontsini nee Stratigos (20.2.1911- 13.12.1989)
Evdocia Stratigos was the daughter of (Panayotis) Peter Stratigos (born in Milopotamos, Kythera) and Persephone Kasolis (born in Smyrna, Asia Minor). Peter Stratigos was an Importer and had an Emporium in Smyrna. His business was in his own building in the main street – one shop was rented out as a jewellery shop. The building was a two storey building where the family (four brothers and one sister) lived above the shop. Evdocia’s siblings were Kosma, Michali, Yiorgio, Niko and Panayotitsa also known as Niki (her nickname was Bebitsa as she was the baby of the family). The catastrophe became apparent and everyone knew that there were problems in the country. The Turks took Evdocia’s family property in Asia Minor. Evdocia’s father was taken by the Turks and never seen again. He was 42 years old at the time. The children fled and were separated, but when they reached Piraeus they met up again and went to Kythera to live at Milopotamo – the birth place of their father. They stayed with relatives. It is not known when Evdocia’s mother died.
Evdocia (25) married Emmanuel Leontsinis (38) (19.12.1898- 28.6.71) in 1936 in Athens.
